| The
village The massive steeple dominates the ancient village of Montauroux with its narrow lanes and its houses dating back to the 17th and 18th Centuries. Built on a hilltop the village had a certain strategic importance in the Mediaeval times, to which still today the remains of the ancient castle bear testimony. Much visited tourist attractions are: the lake of Saint Saint-Cassien , the gorges of the Haute-Siagne, the bamboo forest and the other mountain villages. (Satellite view) |
